🧺 Ingredients
1 cup besan (bengal gram flour)
2½ tbsp oil
½ tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
1 tsp papad khar
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
👩🍳 Method
Mix besan, oil, ajwain, papad khar and salt in a bowl.
Add water gradually and knead into a smooth soft dough.
Take a small portion and roll into a cylindrical shape.
Stretch gently from one end to form long strips.
Heat oil in a pan on medium flame.
Deep fry fafdas in batches until crisp and light brown.
Drain on absorbent paper.
Cool slightly and serve or store in airtight container.
💡 Tips
Knead the dough just before frying.
Apply even pressure while stretching.
Shape 2–3 fafdas at a time for efficiency.
Cool completely before storing.
Papad khar improves crispiness and texture.
