🧂 Ingredients
  • 1 cup rice flour
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp chilli powder (optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • Pinch of hing
  • Salt as required
  • 2 tsp ghee
  • Oil for deep frying
🔥 Method
  1. Boil water with salt, chilli powder & sesame seeds.
  2. Add hing and ghee, then reduce flame.
  3. Add rice flour slowly and mix quickly.
  4. Cover and rest for 5 minutes.
  5. Knead into soft, pliable dough.
  6. Fill dough into greased murukku press.
  7. Shape spirals on ladle or directly into oil.
  8. Fry on medium flame until golden and crisp.
  9. Drain excess oil and cool completely.
Tips & Variations:
  • Sieve rice flour for smooth swirls.
  • For festival version, skip chilli powder.
  • Do not exceed ghee quantity.
  • Keep dough covered with damp cloth.
  • Store only after complete cooling.
