Sabudana Stick Making Machine

Sabudana Batata Sticks are a light, crispy, and flavorful snack made using soaked sabudana and boiled potatoes. These sticks are sun-dried and can be stored for long periods, making them perfect for festive or fasting days.

Servings: Approximately 60 sticks

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sabudana (Sago seeds)
  • 2 small boiled potatoes
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Wash sabudana thoroughly 3–4 times under running water.
  2. Soak sabudana in enough water for 1 hour, then drain completely.
  3. Cover and let the sabudana soak overnight.
  4. Boil and grate the potatoes into the soaked sabudana.
  5. Add red chili powder, cumin seeds, and salt.
  6. Mix well and knead into a soft dough.
  7. If the dough feels dry, sprinkle some water and knead again.
  8. Fill the dough into a chakali press with stick attachment.
  9. Press the dough into stick shapes instead of spirals.
  10. Sun-dry the sticks for 2 days, flipping halfway.
  11. If sunlight is unavailable, dry indoors under a fan.
Note: If the dough breaks while shaping, add little water, knead again, and continue pressing.
