Healthy South Indian Tea-Time
🥬 Palak Puree
  • Handful of palak (spinach) leaves
  • 2 green chillies
  • ¼ cup water
🧺 Chakli Ingredients
  • 2 cups rice flour
  • ½ cup besan (gram flour)
  • 2 tbsp roasted chana dal powder
  • ½ tsp jeera (cumin seeds)
  • Pinch of hing (asafoetida)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp butter (room temperature)
  • ¼ cup water (or as required)
👩‍🍳 Method
  1. Blend palak, green chillies and water into a smooth puree.
  2. Mix rice flour, besan, chana dal powder, jeera, hing, salt and butter.
  3. Add palak puree and mix well.
  4. Knead into a soft, smooth dough adding water gradually.
  5. Fill dough into chakli maker with star nozzle.
  6. Press spirals onto a plate or parchment paper.
  7. Deep fry in medium-hot oil until crisp and golden.
  8. Drain excess oil and cool completely.
Serving Suggestion:
Enjoy crispy Palak Chakli with masala tea or masala milk for a healthy and flavorful snack.
